Specter: misadministration should not be ‘celebrating’
WH needs a good asskicking, says GOP senator --

With his brain cells spinning counterclockwise Sunday, Arlen Specter criticized cheerleading republicans and aides to Alberto Gonzales, stating, “I don’t think they should be celebrating, because the attorney general’s testimony was very, very damaging to his own credibility. It has been damaging to the administration, because without answers as to what really happened, there is a lot of speculation. And the charges are being made that the Department of Justice was the political arm of the White House."

At least half a dozen Republican lawmakers have now called for Gonzales’s resignation.

“He’s done something I didn’t think possible. He’s lost the confidence of almost all the Republicans in Congress,” said one top GOP strategist who is close to the White House.

The Attorney General tries to ignore GOP leaders on his way to the executive washroom.
