This is gonna be sweet
The Justice Department is “in a state of paralysis” and Alberto Gonzales’ closest advisers “are nervous about whether he is up to the task.”

At a recent “prep” for a prospective Sunday talk-show interview, Gonzales’s performance was so poor that top aides scrapped any live appearances. Gonzales was grilled by a team of top aides and advisers — including former Republican National Committee chair Ed Gillespie and former White House lawyer Tim Flanigan — about what he knew about the plan to fire seven U.S. attorneys last fall. But Gonzales kept contradicting himself and “getting his timeline confused,” said one participant who asked not to be identified talking about a private meeting. His advisers finally got “exasperated” with him, the source added. “He’s not ready,” Tasia Scolinos, Gonzales’s public-affairs chief, told the A.G.’s top aides after the session was over, said the source.
Who knew telling the truth could be all that hard?

"Fuck this, I'm going home."

This is all just bullshit spin from the political arm of the Justice Department (i.e. - all of them). They're not just lowering expectations but they are setting the stage for a lot of obfuscation and lack of information forthcoming from Abu Al Gonzalez.

Excellent point Maru (ie; "Who knew telling the truth could be all that hard?")! I can see perhaps having to rehearse for something like a debate, or (optionally) for courtroom testimony, even a quick, once-over review/refresher of something that happened awhile ago so that you have more of the details at hand, but this level of 'rehearsal' is starting to sound like fabrication or even some sort of 'voluntary mind-control' (ie; If I accept it as 'the truth' and practice it numerous times, I'll force myself in some perverse sense to 'believe' it and come off sounding truthful)

As long as he goes away after it's over. But ... we can't count on that. Unless the Democrats put impeachment back on the table, the villagers may have to get out the torches.
