Lying incompetent does not project the right image for Justice Department
Support for Attorney General Alberto Gonzales sank even further Thursday as Democrats proposed a no-confidence vote, a fifth GOP senator called for his resignation, yet another Republican predicted he won't survive a congressional investigation, his Harvard Law classmates wrote him begging him to stop destroying America, and his own family put his belongings out on the curb.
The White House shrugged off the no-confidence idea as a "political stunt" and Preznit Stinkfinger announced he will continue to stand by his embattled BFF who turned the highest law enforcement office in the land into a seething cesspool of neoStalinistic crapulence and cronyism.
"He's, like, fightin' terra an' stuff!" Bush said.
By any measure, the news was not good for the AG. Sen. Kit Bond, usually a staunch GOP ally, suggested Thursday that Bush consider ejecting Gonzales speedily.
"The president might decide that the current leadership remaining at DOJ is doing more harm than good," Bond said in an understatement. "After all, he is the Deciderer."
The Attorney General leaves church services, May 13, 2007.
