Makin' us safer

Recovery efforts from the tornado that completely destroyed the town of Greensburg, KS are being hindered because the equipment normally available for disaster relief is in Iraq, says Kansas governor.

Governor Kathleen Sebelius said much of the National Guard equipment usually positioned around the state to respond to emergencies is gone. She said not having immediate access to things like tents, trucks and semitrailers will really handicap the rebuilding effort.

What really grinds my grits is that mouthbreathin' Bushites don't understand that the same situation would exist in the event of a terrorist attack on our soil. If you enjoyed the chaotic and horror-filled Katrina aftermath, if you liked the lack of equipment and troops needed to help residents recover from a mile-wide F5 tornado, you'd love how the Misadministration handles biowarfare or a dirty bomb.

I keep thinking, please let our country survive this cockroach and his henchpeople. But it's already too late for New Orleans, and it looks like Kansas is getting shafted, too. (Hat tip to AMERICABlog for the heads up.)
