WaPo Tool Confirms Her Status As MSM Pimp, Babysitter

WaPo ombudslackey Deborah Howell's Sunday column explores the horrors of (gasp! smelling salts! fainting couch!) incivility among commenters on the WaPo "blogs":

Complaints first came from the newsroom. Reporters don't appreciate the often rude feedback, which I get, too. (A sample reader comment on my column last week: "I think we can all agree after reading Howell's lame comments week after week that the Post should save money by eliminating her position entirely. She is worse than a dupe.")

Well, boo fuckin' hoo me all to hell.
Deb, a bit of advice: If you think that's "rude," you seriously need to find another line of work - like, say, weaving baskets. You're supposed to be a journalist, for fuck's sake! Pissing off the powerful is supposed to be your stock in trade. Oh, and BTW: The commenter's right.
Of course, were she actually doing her job, she could have pointed out that "[r]eporters [who] don't appreciate the often rude feedback" need 1) to grow a pair, 2) get a spine, and 3) start doing their fucking jobs. You know, the sort of thing my darling Dan Froomkin would write. (Dan, the offer still holds.)
But what really pisses me off is Deb's concluding graf:

Two important journalism values -- free, unfettered comment and civil, intelligent discourse -- are colliding. My two cents: Monitor the comments much more vigorously and use the old journalism rule: When in doubt, take it out.

Thus proving once again that not only can Deb not distinguish between fact and opinion, but she also has no understanding of the role of a free press.
And this is what WaPo considers an "ombudswoman."
Fucking whores, the lot of 'em. (Except Dan . . . .)
