Pentagon: Iraqi violence still rising
Why does the Pentagon hate our troops?
As we continue to make breathtaking significant progress in Iraq, the level of violence and number of casualties have increased -- despite the US surge, the Pentagon told Congress on Wednesday.
In another "astonishing sign of normalcy," three mosques were attacked and burned on Thursday in retaliation for yesterday's attack, even as US commanders worried about "a new wave of sectarian bloodletting" that could erupt in Indiana-like markets across the country.
We've also seen amazing progress in Baghdad this afternoon, as four mortar shells were fired into the heavily fortified Green Zone, despite the curfew.
