How I spent my summer vacation...
Embattled Attorney General spends time in peaceful locale

Alberto Gonzales, under fire at home, hopes he won't be under fire in Iraq --

Gonzales arrived in Baghdad on Saturday for his third trip to Iraq to help fashion the country's legal system.
Oh, good choice there.
His optimistic assessment came despite the frequent sectarian lawlessness and killings in the country.
And despite the entire Iraqi government being on vacation. Great. While Congress is "questioning his truthfulness on a variety of issues," they can also add the "progress" being made in Iraq.

Iraqis greet the US AG in Baghdad.

Maybe he's there to fire the Iraq government and replace them with the Bush girls, so Democracy! Whiskey! Sexy! can gain a foothold. Sweet crude can then win over the sweet crude they were always after.

To help setup a legal system, AG's a great choice -- IF you're looking for an obsequious, servile puppet government (which of course is what Cheney, his stooge 'W', and all the other Neo-cons truly want in Iraq and the Middle-East in general) to kiss the US government & their oil-companies asses. If you're a citizen of Iraq, then it's like having OJ do divorce counciling - - you're fucked.
