Makin' progress
As "positive steps in cities and towns are offering hope for future stability," an Iraqi provincial governor was blown up by a roadside bomb on Monday as rival Shi'ite factions fought it out. It was the second assassination of a top official in just over a week.

As we're "turning the tide with the new strategy," we're... uhhhhh... running out of troops.

The desert country will be "undergoing a sea change" as a crumbling dam 25 miles away from Mosel is ready to burst, "leaving the city submerged by the Tigris River."

And in another "cause for optimism," survivors of Iraq's worst suicide attacks ever last Tuesday are left to die buried in the rubble as officials say there are insufficient resources to rescue them.
