The misadministration's ticking time bomb
Will Colin Powell finally pull the WH dick out of his ass?

The White House fears that the former secretary of state will finally tell the truth about the "planning" for the Iraq war.

National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley has voiced anger and concern about whether Powell will step forward and what he might say, and other presidential aides are wondering how to cope with that nightmarish possibility. The White House aides' fear of Powell reflects their guilt, if not their stricken consciences, over his disposal. Powell was used, ruined and tossed overboard. His warnings were ignored, his loyalty was abused, and when he no longer served Bush's purposes he was unceremoniously discarded.
Like a fake bottle of anthrax. C'mon, Colin, man up already.

If they haven't done anything wrong, why are they worried?

i'd love to see kristol and rush and o'reilly, et al., try to spin this shit. after all, powell has for so long been their golden boy. i can't fucking wait to see what brilliance bullshit they come up with.

more than likely, not being able to label him unamerican or a partisan zealot, their likely approach will be the "well, uh, that was a long time ago, can't we just move on?" trick.
