Founded this summer by a dozen wealthy conservatives, the nonprofit group ["Freedom's Watch" -- because if you don't, you must be a Islamodefeatosurrendercrap who hates America, commie] is set apart from most advocacy groups by the immense wealth of its core group of benefactors, its intention to far outspend its rivals and its ambition to pursue a wide-ranging agenda. Its next target: Iran policy.The so-called "experts"? Members -- ahem -- of the American Enterprise Institute, the very same cabal of Cheney-slobbering yamholes who brought us the Iraq war.
Next month, Freedom’s Watch will sponsor a private forum of 20 experts on radical Islam that is expected to make the case that Iran poses a direct threat to the security of the United States.

I'm not underestimating the power of the 'uniniformed ignorance' of the American sheeple, but we MIGHT...j-u-s-t might... be to the point where even THEY will be virtually immune to the high-powered efforts of these plutocrats. I'm beginning to believe that the semi-apolitical, usually 'undecided' voter (whom makeup 40-50% of the voters) is the one who typically pays NO attention to the news EXCEPT what little he/she gleans from fleeting glances of the news, jokes on talk-shows, and (during elections) political ads. I think the reich-wingers listen to talk-radio and the up-scale ones read right-wing media (WSJ, National Review, etc), while us lefties tend to get most of our info from print media and/or the Internet.
Anyway, my point is that we lefties aren't going to change our opinions no matter how much these assholes spend, and -- politically more significant -- the inattentive American sheeple segment is NOT that affected by media & facts (which usually works AGAINST good government) BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT PAYING ATTENTION! If they've made up their minds (as most surveys tend to indicate right now) about the Iraq War, then they're basically 'unnreachable' by serious media because essentially they don't follow politics! While it's vaguely possible that saturation advertising MIGHT affect them, I think that the Iraq War has culturally become the Vietnam War of this era and the conservatives will not be able to stop the growing backlash.
