Brain-dead: the presiduncy of George W Bush

P M Carpenter's commentary on how the Bush misadministration, "a gang of D- mentalities, could produce such A+ catastrophes."

Shallow pomposity and bombast, you bet. Self-inflated egos, sure. An unshakable sense of royal entitlement, no doubt. But certainty from thought? I think not. Just a certain and plain, everyday, transparent banality that underlies and typifies monarchically destructive flops.

Excellent rundown of 'qualifications' of the W Bush administration.

I still have to marvel at HOW QUICKLY (relatively speaking) W & friends fucked things up! I kind of figured in 2000 that he'd float along as a do-nothing (other than helping 'richers', ala Reagan) president. But Jesus H Christ -- he virtually let 9/11 happen with his 'pre-9/11' indifferent attitude towards bin Laden, exacerbated the economic problems that were happening due to the stock market bubble bursting, ineffectually observed Katrina happen until it was too late, but the biggest surprise was HOW QUICKLY Iraq turned into the debacle it is today! I thought for sure they'd find a few old small caches of forgotten about bio-weapons leftover from 1991 and would be able to trumpet those as "Saddam's WMD's" - - but to find NOTHING! That's not even good Machiavellian planning! To not even significantly control the country after illegally invading it - - it proves to most of us how utterly incompetent the Neo-cons are at governing! All they are about is MORE MILITARY and less government control over corporations -- beyond those distinctly bad ideas, they are bereft of any significant policies.
