Iraq withdrawals "off the table," say rubberstamping WH knobgobblers

Leading Republicans in Congress on Thursday declared that troop withdrawal legislation should be scrapped because the United States has "made significant progress" in the war, just as the GAO, the NIE, the CRP and the RTFA were reporting bleak pictures of Iraq's political climate and the performance of its security forces.

"An unpopular president who is a member of an unpopular party is pushing an unpopular war. So of course, Democrats have to pre-emptively surrender for fear that "some" might criticize them."
-- kos.

They make me sick. The American public handed them a mandate to end the war on a silver platter. And they're afraid some fat-assed chickenhawk gasbag like Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity is going to be mean to them? Who the fuck gives a shit?? I have news for them: no matter what Dems do they won't win over those Bush-ballgargling asshats. Even rethugs that don't suck their tiny limp little peeners are on their shitlists. Fuck 'em.

They are afraid to lose pro-Israel PAC money, that's why they aren't acting up. That or they're just afraid. Either way, the troops are fucked.

Jeebus, Maru, don't pussy-foot around. Just say what's on your mind.

EGG-FUCKIN-ZACKLY MARU! Well said! I could even vaguely sympathize with the Dems in the past when too many of the American sheeple were all "9/11-terrorists-"support our troops with car magnets"-bomb the world" and the Dems were the minority party. But jeez-o-Pete, that was then (pre-2005) and this is now! Take advantage of your winning in 2006 and DO something with it! Don't squander it trying to find some common ground with those fucking Neo-cons! As you so correctly said (and I'm embellishing), the right-wing squawk-radio faction will NEVER... never, never, never... endorse or promote any liberal/progressive ideas or candidates (and will barely acknowledge moderates) and they've shown a ready capacity to blatently LIE or grossly exaggerate things about liberals / progressives. So it's a losing game trying to 'not offend' them - - their whole game is 'offense' and offending! Get on with running the country effectively -- which may well include impeaching (or at least good attempts at it) the Cheney adminstration and it's W-puppet.

yep, this is the big IT! They are NOW OFFICIALLY COMPLICIT in Bush the Lessor's playtime GI JOE fiasco. They are not on our side, and we are back to square one, where we were on November 5, 2006. WHOEVER IS RUNNING, VOTE FOR THE OPPOSITE OF THE INCUMBENT. And while we demand change and responsible leadership, they knaw their suckers and flip us off and more of us DIE.
