Keepin' us safer

Quiche Lorraine! That smoking mushroom cloud could have come ... from us!

An Air Force squadron commander has been relieved of his command, undershorts after five nuclear weapons were flown cross-country on a B-52 from North Dakota to Louisiana last week. The nuclear warheads should have been removed before the missiles were mounted onto pylons under the bomber's wings for the Aug. 30 flight. Gee, ya think??

Actually, the commander that had them loaded thought the flight was doing a stopover at D.C. before heading to Louisiana and just wanted to see how easy it would be to drop one in the laps of his superiors at the Pentagon.

Unfortunately, the stopover at D.C. was canceled and they went directly to Louisiana. Too bad! Maybe next time!
