Murdering mercenaries in Iraq puts U.S. officials in vise

Winning hearts and minds....

American officials scrambled to head off a potential crisis Monday after irate Iraqi authorities canceled the license of the controversial American company Blackwater USA, whose guards killed several civilians.
Geez... touchy. They were just a "small price to pay" for freedom. Why do Iraqis hate America?

Yeah... those ungrateful Iraqi wretches - - it's OBVIOUS that we're just doing ALL of this (at a cost of 14 dead US soldiers/wk & $1 BILLION/wk) ONLY to 'bring democracy' to Iraq! Those stupid people just don't appreciate the difference between FRIENDLY bullets & bombs hitting them vs the EVIL bullets & bombs that Hussein used! Anyone can see that there's a WORLD of difference between your Iraqi family getting killed by Saddam's henchmen in the 1970's & 80's (when one of the world's superpowers was supporting him) vs your Iraqi family getting killed by US sanctions or bombings or trigger-happy soldiers/mercenaries. Jeez, can't they just get 'over-it' and get us some cheap oil so we can buy bigger SUV's again? Have some pity on those Hummer dealers for God's sake and stop worrying about your pathetic little country!

Of course, I've got to admit that I'm not sure why we're not 'bringing democracy' to OTHER countries (some of which we would even fare a whole lot better) in Africa or Asia or South America, etc. I'll have to ask O'Reilly, Limbaugh, T.Carlson, Cheney, etc -- any of those repositories of humanitarian truth.
