Nelson Mandela surprised to hear he's dead

Not surprised to hear it came from the mouth of the Chimpleton.

Mandela still alive after embarrassing Bush remark.

Stupie McAsshat declared there could be no "instant democracy in Iraq" because "people are still recovering from Saddam Hussein's brutal rule."

Bush said: "I heard somebody say, 'Now where's Mandela?' Well, Mandela is dead. Because Saddam Hussein killed all the Mandelas."
Another proud moment in American history.

Duh!

It's clear from the transcript that the literal meaning of the question "Where's Mandela?" GWB was asked is "Where are the Iraqi leaders who will play the same role that Mandela played in the rebuilding of South Africa?" GWB's response was a pithy metaphor summarizing the situation there.

Apparently, GWB's critics are either (a) so dishonest as to give a false spin on the statement, (b) too lazy to check out the context before reporting it, or (c) too stupid to understand the analogy.

Nice try CJ, but no point. Bush garbled his response which is quoted as "I heard somebody say, Where's Mandela?' Well, Mandela's dead because Saddam Hussein killed all the Mandelas," - - you can call it a "pithy metaphor" or any other euphemism you like, but it's just continued poor sentence construction by the idler who got gentlemens' C's in college. The fact that Bush's response is so historically shallow (ignoring the outright support the US gave to Hussein, going back to the CIA protecting him BEFORE he came to power, and then the US' military support in the 1980's when Hussein was at his worst, and the US' role in the deadly sanctions in the 90's followed by the US 'shock & awe' bombing, up to the present civilian killings by Blackwater forces during the US occupation -- one could argue that the US may have accidentally killed/disabled many of the Mandela-type reformers) and blatently self-serving (blame everything on Hussein, or Democrats) is not mentioned by yourself or his supporters. Pity, that..

How embarrasing for you. The President's quote was a compliment to Mandela. A leader during tyranny who comes out the other side to lead his nation out of darkness. A moral man. None exist in Iraq. Saddam had them killed. That's Bush's point. He did not say Mandela has passed. It's respectful to wish there was a Mandela in Iraq. Should we just not bring his name up until the 89 year old passes away? The original question that the President was referring to was someone asking: "Where is this region's (middle east) Mandela?" Is that person to be derided as someone who mistakenly thought that a frail 89 year-old Mandela was making the rounds, dodging jihadists in Iraq? I really can't believe that someone would have misunderstood the President's evoking of Mandela's name in his statement. I can believe this though:

As one of the legions of faceless, nameless, wise-ass, know-it-all bloggers to get yet another shot in at George Bush... you should be embarrased. You should be embarrased that you're among a generation of kids who are getting their "news" snippets from YouTube, the daily show, and fellow bloggers.

LOL. You guys are amazing. Of COURSE I'm taking it out of context: it's what you freetards do every freaking day to Dems. Two can play at that game, idiots.

Assholes.

Yeah, maru, you should be completely embarrassed for voicing your opinions about the lying, POS fucktard in the White House.

A great big thank you to the two Bushtard jizz-garglers, CJ and Rico, for the Saturday morning laugh.

Rico, make sure you stayed tuned to your beloved Fox News for your daily dose of O'Reilly's "truthiness", otherwise known as blatant, biased bullshit. Falafel anyone?
