If you or I were watching some TV movie with a plot & dialogue like this, we'd think "how juvenile..they can't even come up with something clever. This script is SO unbelievable and predictable I'm not even going to bother spending 5 minutes on it" and we'd move on to The Simpsons or Jon Stewart or even The Teletubbies!
