Coincidentally, I just rented it this weekend. Man, talk about disturbing! What sort of a mind sets a fantasy tale in the middle of the Spanish Civil War? I'm glad I watched it alone and not with my son. It's not for young kids.
It's still an excellent film and illustrates the brutality that is inherent in fascism. Torture and murder were the order of the day. I'm glad that those things can't happen today! :{
