Serial flipflopper backpedals on statements — again

Caught in yet another lie, a tearful Mitt Romney blames baseball coach Bill Belichek. Or something like that.

Mitt "Waffles" Romney, who earlier this year had to backpedal on his so-called hunting exploits, his positions on gun control, abortion funding, immigration, and his favorite book, is explaining himself again after claiming an endorsement he did not receive and saying he witnessed his father in civil rights marches he could not have seen.

"It's a figure of speech," Romney said Thursday after media inquiries into his statement that he watched his father, the late Gov. George Romney of Michigan, march with Martin Luther King Jr.

CBS News: “Did you actually see — with your own eyes — your father marching with Martin Luther King?”

Romney: “My own eyes? You know, I speak in the sense of I saw my dad become president of American Motors. I wasn’t actually there when he became president of American Motors, but I completely imagined 'saw' him in the figurative sense of he marched with Martin Luther King. My brother also remembers him marching with Martin Luther King and so in that sense I saw him march with Martin Luther King.”
Yeah... that's the ticket!
He added, sobbing, “You know, I’m an English literature major as well. When we say, ‘I saw the Germans bomb Pearl Harbor Patriots win the World Series,' it doesn’t necessarily mean you were there — excuse me, the Super Bowl. ... No, it’s a figure of speech.”
"And when I say I shook Ronald Reagan's hand, I mean I saw that picture of him shaking hands with Elvis -- excuse me, Nixon -- so in that sense... uhhhh... forget it! Just forget it! {sob!}"

"Why yes: I did help tear down the Berlin Wall."
