MMMmmmm.m.m... Crunchy on the outside but chewy on the inside! (attribution - stolen from 'The Far Side')

Seriously though, what amazes/concerns me is the relatively SMALL number of polar bears that there are throughout the world! The researchers* connected with it say that there are about 25,000 WORLDWIDE! It sounds like a lot, but when you know what happened to things like the passenger pigeon (where it used to take 2-3 DAYS for a continuously-flying flock to pass through!) and see human population expansion/hunting & now global warming, those aren't large numbers.

Sadly true, big em. I'm hopeful that the publicity surrounding births of polar bears in zoos will help bring more awareness to their plight.
