WTF -- is Geraldo trying to play the naive innocent when he say (regarding Obama's speeches): "What seems so spontaneous and original now to me seemed kind of driven by advisors and media consultants and premeditated, and it really left a sour taste." Name ONE politican who doesn't use advisors & media consultants in this political environment (for instance, where you've got Fox Noise pundits pouring over every speech for gaffs)-- even the most progressive/liberal one like Gravel or Kucinich have these folks, though they may not use them like a Reagan/Bush/or Clintons did, or as McCain/Romney/Huckabee do. And I doubt that ANY politician's speeches are anywhere near 'spontaneous'.

The long and short to me is that you can't trust any politician's speeches! They're JUST WORDS WITHOUT ANY ACTIONS, so they don't necessarily reflect their true beliefs or future actions. You have to look at their past actions to get the best idea of their future moves, and even that won't be 100%, though it'll be a hell of a lot closer than basing it on their campaign speeches.
