So... totally... pwn3d. Via CultureVultures, some pithy comments from the Feb 08 Vanity Fair piece on slimy scumbag Karl Rove:
As I write this, Bush’s “Brain”--a cruel put-down if ever there was one--is making the rounds of book publishers soliciting offers for his forthcoming memoir.I'm dying here!
“This book,” Rove writes in his proposal, “will be about my work as ‘the architect’ of George W. Bush’s successful campaigns and my role in his consequential--and controversial--Presidency.”
You really have to admire the fellow’s positive attitude. It’s as if the captain of the Titanic landed ashore and began soliciting offers for his monograph on water safety...
Published reports say that the protean efforts of Rove’s agent, the Washington lawyer turned literary envoy Bob Barnett, have mustered only tepid interest in the project ... Curiously, some of the publishers Rove visited found him to be arrogant, deluded, and apparently of the minority opinion that his former boss’s administration has been a thumping success.

Working title: "If I Did It."
I dunno.... Might make for some interesting reading while waiting for a colorectal screening.
And, if by some unforeseen iotragenic mistake they stick the book up there instead of the videoprobe, the tome will feel right at home.
How does one measure success in America?
If one measures it by grand deception, along the line, "Making fools and suckers of the public masses for profit," then Rove probly doesn't have to worry too much about living off the royalties from a book.
I mean, he (and all those vultures) can just go take some gold from his secret war-chest, right?
