A tearful Mitt Romney on Thursday accused John McCain of adopting underhanded tactics from Richard Nixon and causing Saint Ronnie of Reagan to look down from Heaven in bitter disappointment.
McCain's decision to level the troop timetable charge without leaving Romney time to rebut it before the Florida primary "was reminiscent of the Nixon era," Romney said, adding it was very anti-Ronald Reaganlike.
"I don't think I want to see our party go back to that kind of campaigning," Romney said, sobbing. "Ronald Reagan would not have approved."
