Asskickinpalooza

4,000. It's just a number and the gelatinous slime known as Darth Cheney reminds us proles that the greatest burden isn't on the families of the soldiers, but on Awol McDrinky

"The president carries the biggest burden, obviously," Cheney said. "He's the one who has to make the decision to commit young Americans, but we are fortunate to have a group of men and women, the all-volunteer force, who voluntarily put on the uniform and go in harm's way for the rest of us."
It's so easy to be so non chalant when we are so kickin' ass::
The shelling started just before 6 a.m., mortar fire shaking buildings and sending early risers in the Green Zone here running for shelter. Sirens went off, and loudspeakers blared, “Duck and cover! Duck and cover!” A thick column of gray smoke rose above the embassies and government buildings in the area.
The early morning onslaught on Sunday was one of the fiercest and most sustained attacks on the Green Zone in the past year, and it ushered in a day of violence that claimed the lives of at least 51 Iraqi civilians and soldiers, including two children.
Mission Accomplished, Bring'em on, We're winning absolutely, We're makin' progress, We're kickin' ass. But wait, like a commercial for Popeil's Pocket Fisherman, there's more:
A suicide car bomber struck an Iraqi army post in the northern city of Mosul in a surge of attacks that killed at least 57 people nationwide.
The war is over, we won. Nothing to see here citizen.....now move along.

Has ANYONE yet figured out HOW these assholes WON (well..OK.. let's say 'prevailed' for the sake of accuracy) AGAIN in 2004?!?? I still can't come to grips with it... even after 3+ yrs. Of course I have to admit to still having problems believing that Reagan won in 1980, so I have no delusions of being an impartial observer! I can't even understand how it could have been CLOSE in 2004?? You can stretch you're imagination and see how -- in 2000 when the average Reboob (and wanna-be rich-guy poseur) probably figured that W was going to be a non-descript Republican president like his father - - but 2004?? Nader was less of a factor, the war was becoming unpopular, the Reboob electoral fraud was probably limited to Ohio, and W was long revealed as the incompetent that he is. (Of course, Hurricane Katrina was REALLY a major turning point I guess - - it was SUCH an appealing media event for the networks that they wouldn't sacrifice the ratings for W's sake)

But really - - how fucking STUPID, MASOCHISTIC & IRRESPONSIBLE does a country have to be to do that?? David M.Green had an excellent column* recently referring to the US population as 'lethally stupid', which is entirely apt!

I believe you have the wrong quote. It is not "just a number".

"I like to tell people when the final history is written on Iraq, it will look like JUST LIKE A COMMA because there is - my point is, there's a strong will for democracy." - Prezinet Lyington O'Warmonkey, on CNN with Wolf "Leslie" Blitzer, 24 Sept. 2006.

Tony Snow said that, but he should have added the comma.
