You're missing the Reboob point Maru -- we should be more concerned as to whether KBR made a healthy PROFIT or not! The health of employees or consumers/customers is irrelevant when you turn things over to the 'private sector' (read: profit sector) -- 'health' is considered an 'external' cost that you try to transfer to the individual or the government so that you can maximize your profit! If it's cheaper to hire PR companies (and/or setup Neo-con 'think'-tanks/astro-turf foundations,etc)to improve the PERCEPTION of a product/practice than it is to actually IMPROVE a product/practice and pay lawsuits, then you emphasize that route.
