As the awesome surge continues to kick ass, the civilian death toll in Iraq rises:
Iraqi police said on Friday 68 people were killed and 131 injured in a devastating attack in a packed shopping area in central Baghdad on Thursday, making it the deadliest attack in the Iraqi capital for nine months.Hmmmm... and for some reason, US intelligence officials want to keep the next NIE Iraq assessment report secret. Go figure.
In a separate attack, a suicide bomber targeted a police station Friday in the northern city of Mosul, driving his explosives-laden car through protective barriers before detonating it outside the station's front gate, killing at least four officers and wounding 33, authorities said.
Separately, twin bombings Friday morning near the home of a police officer in central Mosul killed one person and injured 14 others seriously.
Durrrrrrr....
