Successful endeavor

A remarkable turnaround! Astonishing signs of normalcy as things continue to go remarkably well in Iraq:

Lack of electricity and basic sevices such as phones, education, health care, even garbage removal. Black-market fuel. Daily blackouts. Metallic flakes in the rice. Worms in the tap water.

"Under Saddam's regime, we had limited salaries but we had security and decent services. Now, we have decent incomes but we lose it all to water, propane, groceries, fuel. We save nothing," said Balqis Kareem, 46, a Sunni Muslim housewife. "This government gives with the right hand and takes away with the left."
Yep, democracy's on the march!

Bonus: "A conference to reconcile Iraq's warring political groups began to unravel even before it got under way on Tuesday." We'll stand down when they stand up!
