'hrs' has an interesting point about lying and the effect on the 'casual' voter. I tend to believe that it really wouldn't work for us lefties -- the main reason being that the left/progressives DON'T have the MSM in their corner like the Neo-cons have had & do now. The reich-wing squawk radio/TV/print will originate the lies (they have the deep pockets & amorality to do it, and they've developed a knack at it) and the MSM will give legs to the lies of the right-wing by neutrally covering them as part of the 'he-said/she-said' debate of politics.
