Nothing to See Here, Comrade, Move Along

There really isn't any war going on and besides, WE WON!! So hath declared Pravda the "liberal media"

Last November, I noted that ABC's Nightline, its long-running signature news program, had essentially boycotted Iraq as a news story. I found that over an 18-week span, from mid-July through late November, Nightline aired approximately 230 separate news segments, only one of which was about events on the ground in Iraq. In the 17 weeks since then, Nightline has continued to look the other way, which means that over a nearly nine-month span, during which time more than 300 reports aired, Nightline has effectively ignored the war in Iraq as a news event.
It. Does. Not. Exist.
Just imagine what kind of uninspired effort ABC News would put forward if Iraq were not a "very important story."
We all know that the run-up to the Iraq war represented a colossal failure for the Fourth Estate. Now the media's collective disregard for the war five years later represents the second inexcusable breakdown of the press corps.
If you talk about the war, the masses might start questioning it, and that's a bad thing for Bush Crime Families and other bloodsucking, parasitical things.
Teh awesome surge is working.
What else you need to know?

I'm to the point where for the last 10 yrs or so, I won't even bother to read or watch the MSM for info on any signficant political event (the last time being 9/11) -- especially the US media. They are just TOO compromised by their overriding commercial/profit interests, as excellently documented by Ben Bagdikian's book "The Media Monopoly" as well as scores of others. Effectively all you get in the MSM is one long 'sales job' for commercial/corporate interests and their political partner, the Neo-cons. They feed us self-gratifying pap, telling us how we're great and America is the greatest country in the world, we alone care about protecting the worlds' peoples, yadda-yadda-yadda, and then they work in the selling-points (buy this toothpaste/mattress/car/home, etc). The MSM political coverage is ultimately relegated to lead-in's for commercial products & services. No sense wasting one's time reading that non-reality stuff...
