In a Reuters-Zogby Poll released on Wednesday, independent voters favor Barack Obama over John McSame by a 22% margin.
McCain has repeatedly pretended to reach out to independents by faking center-left positions on issues that are vital to conservatards, or by flipflopping on his previous Bush handjobbery. But McWaffle's efforts have demoralized the hopelessly-nutjob base of the Republican Party and, thus far, have failed to attract independent voters.
