A 1500-year-old live oak, called the "Angel Oak" by folks in Charleston, South Carolina, it's probably the oldest living thing in North America east of the Mississippi. Least that's what Wikipeida says.

Last year I saw a production of "The Rite of Spring" performed under those branches. It was quite a sight.

Don't let Bush see this tree. He'll want to carve it up for furniture for the ranch. And Cheney would want it for firewood.
