The Economitude is Solid!!

Bad times are good for the repo man

Fueled by an overvalued housing market and a spigot of easy credit, people overextended themselves on luxury items like automobiles, boats, Jet Skis and the like. Now the punch bowl has gone empty and the bill for the good times has come due. There are now more than 250 repossession companies across Michigan and scores of fly-by-night freelancers with pickups and crowbars prowling the streets from sundown to sunup looking for that Escalade in arrears. Watch the video, read the story.
But according to McSame's top adviser and member of the church of Trickle-Down Economics Phil Gramm, if you call it a recession, you are a bunch of whiners,
"You've heard of mental depression; this is a mental recession," he said, noting that growth has held up at about 1 percent despite all the publicity over losing jobs to India, China, illegal immigration, housing and credit problems and record oil prices. "We may have a recession; we haven't had one yet."
"We have sort of become a nation of whiners," he said. "You just hear this constant whining, complaining about a loss of competitiveness, America in decline" despite a major export boom that is the primary reason that growth continues in the economy, he said.
Gramm and McSame's distaste for using the word "recession" is understandable, given the Republican Party's dismal prospects in this election year. And to be sure, the only "R-word" more painful for the GOP to utter right now is "Republican."
In fact, there is no Republican party today, but rather just a collection of the criminal, greediest, most selfish fucktwit ballgarglers of what American has spawned. It is the drain into which the scum of America sinks.
In other news, Obama flip-flops on lunch choice. Film at 11.
