Foreign official wants to speak at Il DuceBag impeachment talks

Hearing set on "imperial Bush presidency"

Munchkin of Justice: a U.S. ally wants to participate in the impeachment hearings before the House Judiciary Committee.

“Legislative leaders of a foreign capital have a new angle that I haven’t thought of before but is relevant. This interest in whether we’ve been told the truth has extended to other countries,” he said in an interview. "Huh. 'Interest'. Right. I'm glad someone is taking this seriously," he added, glaring at the House Majority Leader and Sen. Harry Reid.

Judiciary Chairman John Conyers will hold a broad hearing on the myriad abuses of power by the Bush misadministration.

“There’s never been one that accumulated all the things that constitute an imperial presidency,” Conyers said, explaining that the hearing would review such matters as the firing of U.S. attorneys, the leak of the identity of former CIA operative Valerie Plame, and the information provided to Congress in the run-up to the Iraq War.
"If we still have time, we'll look into everything else," he should have promised. Along with actually impeaching the miserable son of a bitch.

I KNOW it's been said a million+ times here and elsewhere, but I STILL can't believe the dichotomy: The US Congress almost impeached POTUS Bill Clinton for a consensual sex act with an adult - - but the opposition party leaders now refuse to even entertain the notion of impeachment when it involves some of the most grave matters you can imagine - - STARTING A WAR OF AGGRESSION where around literally a million people have died as a result! WTF WOULD qualify as an impeachable offense nowadays?? Probably about the only thing I can think of is if W gave bin Laden a blowjob live on national television.

This disparity says a LOT of ugly things about this country...

When the President defrauds the congress and dumps on the constitution, the congress is supposed to do something about it. It doesn’t matter whether he means well or whether it’s politically expedient or not. He’s abused the office and you’re supposed to do something about it. As it happens we are in the democracy business. Well, when the very foundation of that democracy is thrown up against a fence and made to stand still for a few quick thrusts, it’s bad business to let the fucker get away with it. Not just bad for our democracy, but for all democracies everywhere.

Impeachment is the mechanism given us by the framers of this democracy to "do something about it," and I sure as hell don’t rule out legal prosecution afterward.

We give our leaders a lot of slack in how they conduct the affairs of this country, but it is absolutely imperative that we say to democracies elsewhere, not to mention future American adminstrations, that this is something that we do not tolerate here.

Or as Dash Hammett-- whose final Sam Spade soliliquy from The Maltese Falcon is paraphrased above-- might put it:

We won’t play the sap for you. You fucked the country, and you’re going over for it.
