I swallowed a plum-pit once

The neighbor's dog had an extremely torturous bowel movement yesterday afternoon -- he probably now qualifies as Freeholder material, at least.

Wesley Clark refuses to back down on his comment that John "I really didn't love America until I was deprived of her company" McInsane's maverick years as a POW does not qualify him to be president. Good.

"As I have said before I honor John McCain's service as a prisoner of war and a Vietnam veteran. He was a hero to me and to hundreds of thousands and millions of others in Armed Forces as a prisoner of war. I would never dishonor the service of someone who chose to wear the uniform for our nation.

"[John '100 more years!' McCain] is running his campaign on his experience and how his experience would benefit him and our nation as President. That experience shows courage and commitment to our country - but it doesn't include executive experience wrestling with national policy or go-to-war decisions. And in this area his judgment has been flawed..."

Clark is SO right! In being POTUS, there are qualities that are necessary, and there are qualities that are sufficient, and there are qualities that are advantageous -- NONE of these catagories include the quality of 'having survived as a prisoner of war'. While that experience was obviously grueling and may qualify him as a 'war hero' (depending on your definition of that term), it's obvious that it in NO way is a qualification for leadership position of a complex, sophisticated organization. Essentially, in and of itself, 'survivial-in-captivity' is irrelevant to leadership qualities.

Sadly, Clark's being right (ie; in the sense of being CORRECT) almost automatically dooms him politically in today's climate.
