The Boston Globe reports that 'decency and good taste have been abandoned' by John McCain, Sarah Palin and the Republican Party after they aired footage from 9/11 showing planes crashing into the Twin Towers during their hateful convention.
One of the most enduring taboos in American politics, the airing of graphic images from the September 11 attacks in a partisan context, died today. It was nearly seven years old.
The informal prohibition, which had been occasionally threatened by political ads in recent years, was pronounced dead at approximately 7:40 CST, when a video aired before delegates at the Republican National Convention included slow-motion footage of a plane striking the World Trade Center, the towers' subsequent collapse, and smoke emerging from the Pentagon.

Gee... I'm trying to recall WHO WAS PRESIDENT for 8 months leading up to 9/11, and who virtually ignored growing warnings about an 'imminent attack' and who told a FBI messenger "Alright you've covered your ass now you can leave" - - wasn't that our reigning REPUBLICAN President?? And who's fucked-up response to 9/11 has lead to 4000+ more US deaths (and around 1,000,000 Iraqi deaths -- of course they're not really 'people', so you don't have to worry about them)... isn't it the self-same REPUBLICAN President?
If I were the Repuke-licans, I would start being cautious about invoking 9/11 too many times - - one of these days even the Reich-wingers are going to catch on as to who was & wasn't responsible for that tragedy.
