Bigoted McCain aide lied about attacker

Fox Nooze VP John Moody yesterday: "If the [Ashley Todd incident] turns out to be a hoax, Senator McCain's quest for the presidency is over, forever linked to race-baiting."

Dude -- it was a hoax. The back-story:

Pittsburgh police say a McCain campaign volunteer who said she was held down by a black man who cut the letter "B" in her face has changed her story.

Investigators gave the 20-year-old woman a lie-detector test and are "looking at some inconsistencies" in her story.

Like the "B" scratched onto her lying face being backwards, for one. The "black eye" consisting of eye makeup for another.

The student, Ashley Todd, initially said a black man robbed her at knifepoint Wednesday night and then cut her cheek after seeing a McCain sticker on her car.

Police say bank surveillance footage doesn't show her at an ATM where she says she was attacked.

Todd, who is white, now says she was knocked unconscious and doesn't remember being cut. She now says she only discovered the wound later.

Numb fuck. Hmmmm, let's see. You "wake up" with a cut and think how it might have happened... Do you go with catfight? Clumsiness? Angry raccoon? Drunk and disorderly? Self-inflicted? Attention-whoreness? Or do you go with being a lying, rascist cunt for your presidential candidate? Toughie.

Todd has now confessed that she made the whole story up.

Interesting link and attached comments. I'm not surprised that there's a disturbed individual that would concoct a crazy story -- there's undoubtedly thousands of people like this with major psychological problems, and the media could probably come up with 50 such stories per day. What IS disgusting is the fact that ANYONE would grant such a story IMMEDIATE credibility -- it obviously just REEKS of rank propaganda practicing. I'm not saying that police shouldn't investigate it, but for ANYONE (even the most ardent Reich-winger) to jump on it as FACT is just plain stupid and says a LOT of damning things about their lack of ethics/credibility.

And even if it WAS true -- what the hell would it have had to do with the Obama campaign?? It's not like Obama & friends EVER even hinted at anything REMOTELY like that, or even vaguely condoned violence (as the McCain/Palin campaign tacitly did when followers started yelling up to the podium to "Kill him!" at the mention of Obama's name). When you've got MILLIONS of followers like both McCain and Obama do, I can't hold McCain/Obama responsible for the actions of EACH one of them, UNLESS McCain / Obama (or their running mates/campaigns) directly encourage specific actions.

Lastly, Karl Rove better be careful -- I think we've found his heir apparent, and she's younger, crazier, more ruthless, and has more energy than he so his position may well be in jeopardy!
