For one person. Somewhere, 'Silky Pony' John Edwards is sorta smiling.
GOP donors are pissed about paying for the real-America WalMart Hockey Mom's Saks Fifth Avenue wardrobe -- and are more than a bit ticked off that the RNC would even think of pulling this boneheaded move while most of the country is struggling with their finances.
The RNC's $150,000 investment in Sarah Palin’s wardrobe has prompted some teeth gnashing among the party’s big donors about its political sensibility and a feisty debate among campaign finance specialists about its legality .
“As a Republican Eagle and a maxed-out contributor to McCain’s general campaign, I’d like my money back – he can still have my vote,” complained one irate donor on Tuesday.

The Republican Eagle has crapped. Repugs are going ballistic, Marc Ambinder at The Atlantic says:
Republicans, RNC donors and at least one RNC staff member have e-mailed me tonight to share their utter disgust at the expenditures.
This sort of spending is without precedent -- [T]he heat for this story will come from Republicans who cannot understand how their party would do something this stupid ... particularly during the collapse of the financial system and the probable beginning of a recession.

Duh. Annnnnnnnd, this story wouldn't be complete without the Fox Nooze hypocrisy:

I put up a blog post today titled "Sarah Palin should have gone to Wal-Mart."
How ironic that the party that is always railing against the elites would go shopping at Saks and Neiman Marcus!! What really kills me is the five grand for hair and makeup, really??
They are above caring about what the little people think. Just keep working and paying your taxes so they can continue to enjoy the lifestyle they are accustomed to.
