This is hysterical --

Good news: the republicans have found a clear-cut case of voter registration fraud to prosecute.

Bad news: the alleged perp is the head of the Republicans' California voter registration effort.

The head of a voter registration group hired by the California Republican Party [CRP, or "crap!!" for short] was arrested over the weekend for allegedly lying about his address in the state in order to vote illegally, the office of California's secretary of state announced Sunday.

Mark Anthony Jacoby, the owner of a signature-gathering firm called Young Political Majors, was taken into custody by Ontario police just after midnight Saturday and booked with a felony punishable by up to three years in prison.

Bonus: The CRP called the arrest "politically motivated."

I am so LMFAO right now.

That's hilarious! Serves the assholes right! Reminds me of the 2004 election here in Milwaukee, WI area where some Repuke registered and voted in 5 or 6 municipalities, supposedly "in order to prove how easily voter fraud could take place", and when he revealed his "test"(?) of the system, they arrested him and charged him with voter fraud!

This whole Repuke charge of 'voting fraud' is really bogus -- more of a ruse to cover up the Republican fraud/disenfranchisement in numerous communities (ie; for instance, see link
http://www.consortiumnews.com/2008/101708c.html ) than any expose or investigation. They've been doing this crap at least since the 1970's when the now late Chief Justice Rehnquist (he of the golden chevroned robe)was harrassing Latino voters in the SW US with questions about the US Constitution.
