Welp, we're not the only ones that are having problems with being viewed in IE. There are quite a few posts up at the Blogger help page with this issue. Nobody's come up with a solution yet. Please let me know what kind of error messages you're getting in the comments section, thanks.

Hi Maru.
I'm not getting the error in IE today. I switched to Firefox a few days ago, so I don't how retroactive this is - but prior to that, for the previous week, I *always* got an IE "invalid page" message after it brought your wonderful blog up.

Well I'm not sure if that's a good thing to know or not. My IE has been dumping me out on a regular basis, but even moreso when I try to read your blog. Is it just another interminable IE problem, or censorship posing as an IE problem?

I don't think it's censorship. I've had problems recently using IE on other sites, including my work website. Switching to Firefox solved the problem. But I haven't been keeping up with my periodic Microsoft "updates", so that may be part of the problem.

It works fine.

Opera works just fine too.

Fuck Microsoft. Fuck them right in the ear.

I don't know if it's coincidence or not, but I ran the below free AOL checkup/maintenance routine (good for non-AOL users also) last night and now I'm not experiencing ANY problems on WTF in Explorer via AOL --- whereas previously I was getting aborted off every 15-30 seconds.

(And I haven't noticed any 'black helicopters' in the area! Coincidence? I think not!)

That's a good sign! I'll keep after Blogger, and I won't be adding any more widgets. Oh, I also reduced the number of days posted on the page. for older posts, please see the archives.

Today is the first day I have been able to get in here. I honestly don't remember what the "error" message was saying. It just dropped the site continuously.

For the past week, I have been going through serious 'WTF Is It Now?' withdrawal.

For reasons known only to Microsoft (but damned if one can get an answer from them!),all of a sudden a message came up telling me that 'IE could not access the webpage', followed by a message (same box) 'operation aborted'.

Even more frustrating than not being able to read your webpage on a daily basis - sometmes several times a day, time permitting - was the fact that no matter what I tried, who I contacted (Microsoft and other help sites), no one bothered to respond to this issue.

I had not changed any settings on my computer, nor had I done any updates....so it was even more annoying to all of a sudden (starting Tuesday, January 13) not be able to log on to WTF Is It Now?

As the queen of denial, I tried many times a day, every day, to access your webpage....worth it, because today I succeeded. SO pleased to be back. Hopefully it lasts!

Any advice on what to do if this happens again?

You're fantastic, maru!

Don't make too many adjustments to your blog. It is a Microsoft IE 7 problem and it happens on WordPress blogs as well.

It is most consistently seen when there are embedded videos on the blog, but it also happens at random times.

It only happens with IE 7, and Microsoft is aware of the problem, but doesn't want to admit it, as usual.

There are work-arounds, but they are a real PITA and destroy the whole reason for using blogging software. If you wanted to hand-code every post, you wouldn't use blogging software.

First time in over a week that this site hasn't crashed on me. I haven't made any changes, so whatever it was you did, it seems to have solved the problem.

Well, so far, so good! I've been having trouble for a week or so, but, so far, no prob. This was happening on two different computers, as well (message said 'unable to open page'). I was beginning to smell a 'vast right-wing conspiracy'. I'll keep you posted.

Great, thanks!

I had to open your blog in Firefox all last week- IE could not display the page. Didn't get it today. Out of the 900 blogs I view everyday, it was just on yours - any men in black in your neighborhood?

This is slightly different than the problem I've been having with IE 7.0 for over a year now. The top of the page loads, then the left hand sidebar loads, then the main body of the page. When the main body of the page loads, it wipes out most of the sidebar on the left.

If you guys figure anything out, I would appreciate it if you sent me a note at tomg at funnyarmonline.org. Good luck!
