Repuglican US Senator John Ensign, "a social conservative who had been seen as a potential 2012 presidential contender," admitted last night that he had an extramarital affair with a female aide. A married female aide.

"I violated the vows of my marriage. It is the worst thing I have ever done in my life," the hypocritical manslut said this morning, adding, "Except for that time with the chihuahua. And that one time with a piece of liver. And the thing with my sister-in-law. Oh, and becoming a politician in the first place."

The sanctimonius man-skank not only broke his marriage vows, but, as a member of the "Promise Keepers"cult, broke two of their promises in one fell swoop:

PROMISE 3: A Promise Keeper is committed to practicing spiritual, moral, ethical, and sexual purity.

PROMISE 4: A Promise Keeper is committed to building strong marriages and families through love, protection and biblical values.

Zoink!!! Ehhhhhh! But it gets even better. This is the same quivering dipshit who intoned that "Marriage is an extremely important institution in this country and protecting it is, in my mind, worth the extraordinary step of amending our constitution" and had called for Bill Clinton to resign for getting bjs from Monica Lewinsky.

And while the partisan cumbags at Politico defended him, there was one repug who didn't:
