I may be misremembering, but ...
It was Joseph Welch, as a witness before McCarthy's committee, who confronted McCarthy thusly: "... Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?"
If Murrow ever said anything like that, even if he replaced "decency" with "shame," he was paraphrasing Mr. Welch.
So Beck can't even get that much right. He repeatedly demonstrates a lack of concern regarding accuracy.
And that is my Great Understatement for this week.
