Michael Steele is calling for Harry Reid to resign because of his remarks, but took the opposite view with segregation fan Trent Lott.
Reid: Yo, some of my best friends are light-skinned African-Americans with no Negro dialect unless they want to have one.
GOP: OMG, OMG, kick his racist ass out of Congress!!11!
Lott: I miss the good ol’ days of taking some cotton-pickin’ darkie to the woodshed for some miscegenation and asswhipping.
GOP: lulz!
Actually, Reid should be shitcanned, the ineffectual simp. Then maybe the Dems could get somebody in there with some backbone.
I kill me.

This really really hurts to say, but the rethugs might have a point on this - we on the left would have flipped out if Reid was an R instead of a D. Yes, he was contrite, and yes, he apologized (which separates him from any rethug I can think of), but the actual comment itself did have racial undertones. Reid essentially said, "Obama can be elected because he's not that black." What's the insinuation? A Black man or woman wouldn't qualify for President?
Hope fully this is just the ticket to rid ourselves of that spineless worthless piece of fossilized shit. And take that stupid rich bitch slit Nancy with you Harry.
Certainly if you're discussing electability, not suitability, than things like visual appearance and dialect count. The chosen words seemed suitable, in that context. What would you have rather he said, to discuss those same traits?
Obama doesn't have the baggage that Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have, also Obama is smooth.
I agree that if they are going to get rid of Reid, they need to do so for reasons other than him telling the truth. Altho, he could have phrased it better.
George Will (that well known librul)defended Reid on sunday's show This Week.
"WILL: I don't think there's a scintilla of racism in what Harry Reid said. At long last, Harry Reid has said something that no one can disagree with, and he gets in trouble for it."
