President Obama mocked the Grand Obstructionist Party's campaign to repeal the health care law, saying they should "Go for it" and see how well they do with voters in November.
”Be my guest," Obama said. "If they want to have that fight, we can have it. Because I don't believe the American people are going to put the insurance industry back in the driver's seat."And he has probably saved the lives of millions of registered voters.
"Leaders of the Republican Party, they called the passage of this bill 'Armageddon.'" Obama told the audience, to laughter. "'End of freedom as we know it.' Forty years of darkness…the dead rising from the grave… cats and dogs living together. Mass hysteria!
“So after I signed the bill, I looked around to see if there [were] any asteroids falling or some cracks opening up in the Earth. It turned out it was a nice day. Birds were chirping. Folks were strolling down the Mall. People still had their doctors."
