It's all They Have

They obstruct when in the minority, and when they have a majority? Investigate!

Republicans are planning a wave of committee investigations targeting the White House and Democratic allies if they win back the majority.

Everything from the microscopic — the New Black Panther party — to the massive –- think bailouts — is on the GOP to-do list, according to a half-dozen Republican aides interviewed by POLITICO.

Here we go again. Like lying about a blowjob is the end of the republic.
Allah help us all.

The Repubes have no TRUE widely palatable agenda - - most non-rich people are NOT going to vote for tax-cuts for the rich, nor for things like NAFTA/CAFTA that benefit the upper-echelons of corporatedom and major stockholders while putting people out of work, nor for corporate de-regulation, nor for corporate polluting rights, nor for resource wars in the Middle East, etc, etc. So the only way the Repubes can get elected is to obfuscate things by exaggerating or contriving a lot of relatively petty/incidental issues - like stem cell research 'morality', death-panels, terror & anchor babies, terror mosques @ Ground Zero, Whitewater loan collusion -- we can all quickly name some because they're so numerous. Their true view of government is that they want it to help make them rich -- either by interceding on their narrow behalf (like starting wars in Iraq/Afghanistan) or by withdrawing from regulatory enforcements (financial, pollution, workplace, etc).

Thomas Frank's books (ie; 'What's the Matter With Kansas?' & 'The Wrecking Crew', for instance) pretty much nail this stuff...

You are SUPPOSED to oppose those policies you don't agree with. That's why they were sent to congress.

Are you so out of touch that you think everyone should just agree to your agenda?

Investigating corruption in all branches of the Government is one of the jobs appointed to the house and senate. They ALL need to be investigated in the most uncomfortable and intrusive manner possible.

Perhaps you'd prefer a dictatorship where the senate just rubber-stamps an agenda and turns a blind eye to rampant abuses?

Dim policies are so distasteful that they managed to solidify opposition and lose a majority of their political power in under 18 months. That takes real talent and hubris.

If they had bothered to reign in spending, pass REAL reform, and investigate wrong-doing aggressively they would not have to be gnashing their teeth now.

In other words, do your jobs dummies and you won't be fired.

We'll fire more of these bozo's in the next general election as well. Dims and Reps both. Screw them.

I want every office holder to be VERY fearful of investigation. VERY VERY fearful that any wrongdoing is going to get them sent to prison.

I like my politicians SCARED, which is much better than ARROGANT.

You should to.
