As a huge fan of football, and a long suffering, but loyal Detroit lions fan, I will no longer watch this farce of a "sport." First we had the blown call on Gallaraga's perfect game in baseball and now, obscure WWF NFL rule # 307, designed give the refs control over the outcome of a game. I bet if this happened to the Patriots, Saints, Colts, Cowboys, etc, it would have been a touchdown.
Continue the "process of the catch?" Seriously?
Can't watch this fixed and scripted bullshit anymore.
Dammit, I'm going to miss football.....

You'll get a kick out the article in today's Onion.
Here's a link ~ http://www.theonion.com/articles/rookie-ndamukong-suh-records-lions-firstever-tackl,18064/
Dey wuz ROBBED!!!!!! Fuckin' zebra's blew that call.
The Lions were robbed and should have won the game. And that's not just because I'm a Packer fan and would give several appendages to see the Bears go 0-16. Nope, that has nothing to do with it at all.
They played a pretty shitty game but for Christ and Allah's sake...complete the process of the catch?
If that ever was to happen to the Packers, and it never will, you guys would put on a riot that would make soccer hooligans look lame.
That being said, understand that I think Packer fans rock.
I get that the zebras "properly applied the rule". But that only means that the rule is WAY to specific, and therefore ties the hands of an official trying to apply it. There is no official discretion, and therein lies the problem.
The rule actually should be written a more generally so that an official can make the right *and just* call. The officials in soccer come to mind. Don't punch me - I know that they're far from perfect, but the soccer rulebook is like one tenth the size of the football rule book and allows for a significant amount of official discretion. That's not to say that they don't make mistakes, but they're much less likely to allow the rule to force them to make the wrong call, which is exactly what happened to Detroit on Sunday.
Oh, and I hate the f***ing Bears, too. Go Giants.
I'm a Bears fan and I will say that the call was a joke. BTW, I don't "hate" any other f***ing NFL teams. I have more important things to hate.
