Hi guys

Sad news: my mom passed away yesterday due to complications from cancer. We seemed to have spent all our time with her these past few months as she got weaker and weaker, but I do not begrudge one second of it. She was singing and joking almost till the end, and she not only worried about us, but all the charities she donated to. She was a terrific lady and will be greatly missed.

(((((((MARU))))))))). You were blessed to have so much time with her in her final days. I spent some time every day with my father as he slowly left this world and it was a wonderful thing.

Sad to hear about your mom, Maru -- it's tough to take. It helped me to recall the things I treasured about my mother when she passed away (from a reoccurence of breast cancer), even some of the negative things. It took me awhile to not feel a twinge when I thought about her... probably a good 3 or 4 yrs.

Sorry for your loss but you did the right thing by spending tons of time with her toward the end. You will never regret that.

Oh baby.

Smooch,
we have two moms and a granny dying as I type.
You are right, it is worth every fucking minute you can spend with them.

Oh, she's slipped the surly bonds of earth, and danced the skies on laughter's silver wings...

Maru, I'm so sorry. Please know you have a lot of people thinking of you and your family right now. You know, 'they' always say that time mends a broken heart, but a broken heart can't tell time. Nothing anyone can say will sound right or mean much to you at this time. Hang in there. We're all thinking of you.

I'll join all the others here in NOT saying that it's better this way, because it's just not. I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope your pain is greatly diminished by good memories.

Saddened to hear of your loss Maru.

Your Mum sounds like a great lady with a big heart filled with joy and kindness.

We all go through our parents passing on but remember she'll always be with you, just a mere thought away.

Fess up, I'll bet you've used more than a few of her best lines here.

And we're grateful that she taught her daughter well.

My thoughts are with you.
Take care.

You are one in a gazillion and my heart goes out to you.

My sister has been terminal for a year so we are faced with the same.

It's an epidemic.

Love you,

I'm happy you got to spend time with her and you 'll remember that. My mother also worried about the rest of us and tried to pretend she wasn't in so much pain. Gallent to the end. Sorry for your loss.
