Biggest security operation ever
The president was greeted on the eve of a European Union summit meeting by Prime Minister Bertie Ahern... But over all, Mr. Bush's arrival in Ireland was in striking contrast to the jubilant welcomes accorded here to Presidents Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and John F. Kennedy.
Mr. Bush's reception was frosty, if not outright hostile.
Heh.

Angry White House pulls interview
Storms embassy with torches and pitchforks
The Bushies have lodged a complaint with the Irish Embassy in Washington over Irish TV journalist Carole Coleman's interview with arrogant pussy-assed dictator-tot Dumbya Bush.
I can't believe this. The boy king is acting like spoiled, whiny little brat in the throes of a temper tantrum because a journalist actually asked him some questions instead of letting him get away with his usual brand of banal bullshit.
It's just unbelievable - check out the dignity, statesmanship and gravitas expressed by the WH:
And it is believed the pResident's staff have now withdrawn from an exclusive interview which was to have been given to RTE this morning by First Lady [Pickles Stepford] Bush.Christ. I'm so embarrassed for our nation. Again, here is the link to the video of the interview. Judge for yourself if she was in any way disrespectful to that snivelling, smirking moron.
The Irish Independent learned last night that the White House told Ms Coleman that she interrupted the president unnecessarily and was disrespectful.
She also received a call from the White House in which she was admonished for her tone.
And it emerged last night that presidential staff suggested to Ms Coleman as she went into the interview that she ask him a question on the outfit that Taoiseach Bertie Ahern wore to the G8 summit.

Quote o' the mornin'
"The Irish - devotees of Kennedy, skeptical admirers of Reagan, rapturous cheerleaders for Clinton - have fallen out of love with the American presidency," Stefanie Marsh wrote in a Times of London commentary. "In Ireland, an American president has for the first time become an overwhelming figure of hate."
Cheney defends use of profanity
Wasn't man enough to turn the other cheek to perceived Halliburton diss by American patriot.
I should have told Leahy to go fuck himself a long time ago, he says.
Yeah, he's certainly done his part in changing the tone in Washington.

Despicable sexfiend Jack 'Me-off' Ryan abandons Senate bid in disgrace
Illinois Senate candidate Jack Ryan dropped out of the race Friday amid a furor over lurid sex club allegations that horrified fellow Republicans and caused his once-promising candidacy to implode in four short days.Oh, the media. Dickhole.
"The media has gotten out of control," he said.
And in a related story -
Rebooblican logic: Lying about blow jobs bad. Lying about trying to force your wife into kinky sex games at swinger clubs - perfectly acceptable.

Flashback
From 2003: 'When asked in the interview about the success of rival candidate Howard Dean, whose anti-war message has resounded with supporters, Kerry responded: "When I voted for the war, I voted for what I thought was best for the country. Did I expect Howard Dean to go off to the left and say, 'I'm against everything?' Sure. Did I expect George Bush to f--- it up as badly as he did? I don't think anybody did."
'The expletive drew a rebuke from White House, which suggested an apology might be in order.
'"That's beneath John Kerry," the president's chief of staff, Andrew Card, said in a televised interview.
'"I'm very disappointed that he would use that kind of language," Card said. "I'm hoping that he's apologizing at least to himself, because that's not the John Kerry that I know."'

Lawyer: 'curious we've had to sue for Bush's 'military service' records'
"It seems a little curious because the president made a pretty forceful presentation that he had nothing to hide," said AP general counsel Dave Tomlin, regarding the WH stonewalling. "But we are not surprised."

"George W. Bush may be the first pResident of the US who has brainwashed himself." - Rex Reed.
Witnesses: Ashcroft blew off Al Qaeda warnings before 9/11
...and perjured himself to the 911 Commission
NBC News reports that the 9/11 panel has interviewed two FBI officials who contradict sworn testimony by Jesus John Ashcroft, regarding terrorism warnings in the summer of 2001.
Another senior FBI official says he 'vividly recalls' Pickard returning from the meeting that day furious that Ashcroft had cut short the terrorism briefing. [In addition, former head of the Criminal Division Ruben] Garcia confirmed to the commission that Ashcroft did indeed dismiss Pickard's warnings about al Qaeda.
Understand, Jesus John had more important concerns at the time. Such as busting hookers, head-shop owners, and dope-smoking cancer patients, and covering up the offending breasts of statues.
Being a deranged puritanical fanatic is hard work.
