Wild animal tries to avoid FBI scrutiny

Too much static on the cellphone? Driving into work today I saw a sign that said "Snail Rides - $15/hour!" The scary thing is, around here it just could be true.

The Incompetant Impotus: Intraplanetary Ignoramus

By labeling Iran part of an "axis of evil," the United States is losing its few friends in the Islamic republic, with President Mohammad Khatami the latest to join the camp of adversaries.

Khatami, who made a dramatic overture toward "arch foe America" after his 1997 election, drew the curtain on rapprochement last week, calling on his allies in parliament to abandon a quest for better relations with Washington. "When a big power uses a militant, humiliating and threatening tone to speak to us, our nation will refuse to negotiate or show any flexibility," he said.

"Khatami has not changed his position. He is offended by [Bunnypants'] humiliating tone. He feels he has to defend his nation's integrity," said Mohammad Ali Abtahi, vice president and a Khatami confidante.

"No leader is ready to negotiate when he and his nation are being insulted," he told Reuters. "Khatami used a very civilized tone talking to the Americans and see what he gets in return."

"We missed our many chances. We could have gained a lot from Clinton," said Fariborz Raisdana, an liberal analyst. "Now we have to deal with an America that talks the language of war."

But while at odds on most issues, both factions agree on one thing: "There may have been lost opportunities, but for sure this is not the time to talk to America," reformist Abtahi said.

Stupid Oil Criminals of the BFEE

America, quite frankly, is faced with stunning and fatal incompetency. Having been spoiled over the previous eight years by a political genius, it is very difficult for us now to look utter stupidity in the face.

This is not to say the Bushies are not criminal, because they are. But we are not faced with the diabolical Professor Moriarty, the evil nemesis of Sherlock Holmes. There are no secrets here. We are faced, instead, with the gang that couldn’t shoot straight. If we had a national press corps that was nearly as competent as the Bushies, or a majority in congress with an ounce of political courage, the impeachment of both Bush and Cheney, on the charge of corruption and dereliction of duty, would already be underway. Ashcroft would be just a bitter memory-the same as those in our history who used to burn witches.

The departing Clinton administration didn’t spend their last hours trashing the White House or Air Force One. They spent their final hours briefing the Bushies on the importance of security precautions and intelligence gathering regarding the clear and present danger of terrorism. “You will be spending more time on this issue than any other,” Sandy Berger warned them. Because of their greed, because of their stupidity, because of their long since discredited notions of “world security,” the Bushies ignored Berger’s warnings, and demonstrated fatal incompetence which cost the lives of thousands of Americans, thousands of Afghan civilians, and destabilized the entire world. For what? Oil! Greed! Stupidity!

Why does anyone care what Andrew Sullivan thinks?? Is he really that insightful, or is it like slowing down to gawp at some disgusting highway accident?? I just can't get past his whining ego-laced drivel.

Salon has a semi-clueless, almost rightwing-slanted article on the 'mystery' of MWO today. Puh - the author didn't slam the Washington comPost hard enough, especially over the Steno Sue incidents. The piece also gives a little background to the Bartcop/MWO sites.

More on the MWO Salon story at Eric Alterman's blog. He hasn't mentioned this site ever, but he does give props to Atrios' Eschaton (at atrios.blogspot.com). Maybe I should just give up and post really bad poetry.

Bunnypants Vacationed While They Planned

If Bush being complicit with the GOP to use photos of him, especially the one of him making a call to Cheney on September 11th for fund raising tactics wasn’t enough, now we learn that he had advanced warning of a terrorist threat one month before that horrific day. While it is stated that he had no idea that planes could be used as bombs, do I have a report to show him. That being the Gore Commission Report on Airline Safety and Security.

Castro Rips the Boilfaced Bonghead a New Bunghole

"For Mr. W, democracy only exists where money solves everything and where those who can afford a $25,000-a-plate dinner — an insult to the billions of people living in the poor, hungry and underdeveloped world — are the ones called to solve the problems of society and the world," Castro said in his continuing attack on Crusader Bunnypants' hard line policies toward the island.

"Don't be a fool, Mr. W," Castro said. "Show some respect for the minds of people who are capable of thinking...Show some respect for others and for yourself."

Castro contrasted the Moron of Midland with President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

"It was a long time ago when a man spoke from his wheelchair with a soft voice and a persuasive accent. He spoke as a president of the United States of America and he inspired respect ... He did not speak like a showoff or a thug," Castro said.

Vile Pigboy Erupts, Hamsters Flee in Terror

Limpboner Rips Bunnypants A New Cornchute after Flip-flopping on Global Warming.

"It appears to be the hijacking of conservatism," Rush Limbaugh whined to his ditto-head bushmoonie radio audience today after Chimpy the Choker flip-flopped on global warming.

"George W. Al Gore, anyone?" Limbaugh yelped. How f*cking pithy.

The NY Times story that led up to the tirade said, in part: "In a stark shift for the Bush administration, the United States has sent a climate report to the United Nations detailing specific and far-reaching effects that it says global warming will inflict on the American environment. In the report, the administration for the first time mostly blames human actions for recent global warming."

The report went on to predict: A "disruption of snow-fed water supplies, more stifling heat waves and the permanent disappearance of Rocky Mountain meadows and coastal marshes."

"What's left of the conservative agenda that has not been offered up to democrats?" squealed the Anal Cyst Poster Boy, who has been an outspoken critic of the Global Warming theory.

He blathered on: "I have not jumped across this divide, my friends. I thought about this last night when I became aware [of the NY Times story], and I thought what am I going to have to do? Am I going to have to go on the radio tomorrow and say, 'folks, guess what? I have been wrong about global warming. I've been wrong about it, the president says it is happening, human beings are causing it. I've been wrong.' I just can't because I don't think I am. I -- too many scientists out there whom I implicitly trust who have proven to me that these predictions are basically apocalyptic doom and gloom based on raw emotion. Even the global warming advocates to this day will not tell you it is definitively happening."

Via email, from a friend who keeps tabs on the drudge report

From the bushmoonie site:

Q: Would somebody tell me, besides the war on terrorism (which is getting a bit big for its britches to me), what ten things Bush has done that even resembles conservative thought?

A: They can't. That's precisely why they call all people who question Bush's methods Democratic Underground plants. They either do that or sit on their little "A Day in the Life of President Bush" threads and talk about how sexy the president looks in his jeans or how steely his eyes seem. They are no better than the Clinton sycophants.
