Senator queries WMD claims
From BBC News, mostly:

A senior US senator - Carl Levin - on the Armed Services Committee says he has evidence that the CIA deliberately withheld crucial information from the UN arms inspectors deployed to Iraq.

"Did the CIA act in order not to undermine administration policy? Was there another explanation for this?" he asked.

While Mr Levin has already made clear that he believes intelligence material may have been misused to make the case for war, the BBC says this is the first time he has backed it up with one specific, and serious, allegation.

Smirky McSmeggiesox defended his decision to go to war in a speech on Monday.

"This nation acted to a threat from the dictator of Iraq. Now there are some who would like to rewrite history; revisionist historians is what I like to call them," serial liar and murderer pReznit Privilege said, rewriting history conveniently forgetting his original explanation(s) of why we had to go to war.

Mr Levin wants a Senate investigation into whether US intelligence on Iraq was "shaded or exaggerated," saying that a lack of confidence in the intelligence services would affect security in the future.

The republican majority has put the kibosh on any formal investigations, saying none are necessary since - for once - Bill Clinton's penis was not involved.
