It's just a jump to the left...
Government that backed the Bushies' war has been voted out of office
Outgoing Prime Minister and Bush buddy Jose Maria Aznar was booed as he arrived to cast his vote.

Dramatic upset win in Spain's election Sunday, as voters threw out conservatives, who stood accused of provoking the Madrid bombings by supporting the Bush-led war in Iraq and making Spain a target for al-Qaida.

The government has also been accused of lying withholding information on the investigation to save the election. They had insisted that the prime suspect was the Basque separatist group ETA, even as evidence mounted of an Islamic link in the bombings.
It is now likely that Spain will withdraw their 1,300 soldiers in Iraq unless there is a United Nations mandate requesting their presence. "The war in Iraq was a disaster, the occupation of Iraq is a disaster,'' Prime Minister-elect Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero said in a radio interview Monday. "And anyway, al-Qaida ain't Iraqi."

In a related story, a "huge" car bomb has been found near the US Consulate in Pakistan, two days before Colin Powell is scheduled to visit.
