GOP pitch for Patriot Act draws raucous response
Backers of the Smirking Fascist Punk were surprised when their little press conference cheerleading the Patriot Act was overrun by terrist symps protestors.

[O]pponents of the measure outnumbered the GOP [mouthbreathing zombie fascists] who crowded into the news conference at the Best Western Motor Inn on Capitol Way.

Besides the 60 people indoors, there were 100 protesters in the street and parking lot holding up signs and questioning the wisdom of expanded powers to combat "terrorism."

Police, on instructions from the Bush-Cheney '04 campaign, were asked to remove a white-haired college professor, Thad Curtz, from the news conference site because Curtz carried a sign the Bush-Cheney aides didn't like.

One side of Curtz's sign declared: "No lawyers. No hearings. No warrants. Is not patriotism." The other side invited donations to the campaign of Democrat John Kerry.

No arrests were made. Suspicious black vans parked outside protestors' homes were not ticketed.
